The Morris County Library is hosting volunteers from the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program who are offering free tax help for taxpayers who qualify.

The VITA Program offers the free tax assistance to low and moderate-income taxpayers who cannot prepare their own tax returns.

Trained VITA volunteers will be at the county library from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on
Saturday, Saturday, April 2; Saturday, April 9; and Monday, April 11.

It is recommended that individuals seeking assistance in filling out their tax returns make an appointment by calling 973-538-3451.

The tax returns are e-filed. A limited number of basic federal returns are available at the library. However, New Jersey state tax forms are not available, since the state has stopped sending forms to public libraries.

Anyone with questions about which tax forms the library does have may call the library at 973-285-6969.

The Morris County Library is located at 30 East Hanover Avenue in Whippany.
