The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders took time out from its Feb. 9 morning work session to honor two veteran Morris County journalists for their years of covering the county government.

Fred Snowflack and Michael Daigle were presented with framed freeholder resolutions that commended them for their years of keeping the public informed about county government issues.

Morris County Freeholder Director William Chegwidden commended Snowflack and Daigle for their “diligence, accuracy and fairness” in covering the freeholders and the county government.

Snowflack and Daigle were among a number of reporters, editors and staff who were let go from their positions with the Daily Record last week because of budget cuts.

A 25-year veteran of the paper, Snowflack was most recently the editorial page editor, while Daigle, who was with the Daily Record for 14 years, was the county government reporter.
