The Morris County Freeholders paid tribute to Morris County veterans Nov. 10 with a special Veterans Day Observance.

Freeholder Director Gene F. Feyl issued a proclamation on behalf of the freeholder board declaring November to be Veterans Appreciation Month in Morris County.

The proclamation was accepted on behalf of all veterans by J. Robert Tracey of Morristown, a longtime veterans advocate and volunteer and a decorated Navy veteran.

The freeholders also presented the county’s Distinguished Military Service Medal to veterans George Ondish of Mt. Arlington; Richard Beck of Parsippany; Joe Lake of Randolph;Walter Sully of Wharton; Thomas Frischman of Succasunna; Walter K. Mutz of Denville; Helen Mutz of Denville; Edward C. Young of Lake Hopatcong; Leonard Voytush of Mt. Arlington; Frank Mirabella of Parsippany; and Terence Coletta of Parsippany.

“We promise never to forget or to let be forgotten the many sacrifices our veterans have made in defense of the freedoms we enjoy,” Feyl said.
