“Bringing Alice out of Wonderland,” is the name of a symposium being hosted by the Morris County Freeholders’ Advisory Committee on Women on Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the County College of Morris Student Center.
The event is designed to find ways to empower women to reach financial stability during the recession and beyond, said Edith Frank, chairwoman of the advisory committee.
Among the issues to be raised during the symposium will be the down economy and its impact on women, the effect a woman’s economic status has on the community and women earning less than their male counterparts, Frank said.
The speakers for the symposium will include Janice Kovach, director of the New Jersey Division on Women, and Mary Jo Buchanan, director of the Morris County Department of Human Services.
The symposium is free, but registration is required. To register, contact Liz Kisatsky at [email protected] or call 973-285-6881.
The United Way of Morris County and the County College of Morris are sponsoring the symposium. The County College of Morris is at 214 Center Grove Rd., in Randolph.
