The Morris County Library’s series of free career resource seminars continues in August.
The first session, Networking 101, will take place Monday, Aug. 2, from noon to 1:30 p.m. This seminar will help those who attend identify creative ways to maximize contacts. Social networks such as Linkedin and Twitter will be covered, but hands-on instructions will not be provided.
Company Research for Job Seekers will be Monday, Aug. 9, from noon to 1:30 p.m. This session will cover everything you need to know to about researching potential employers, including company profiles and financial information, products and services, company history and its corporate family tree.
A third seminar, Online Job Applications, will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 14, from 10 a.m. 11:30 a.m. Filling out sample job applications online, data entry and security issues will be among the topics discussed. Those planning to attend should note that this is a demonstration only and not a hands-on job application session.
Internet Job Search Tips will be discussed at a seminar Monday, Aug. 16, from noon to 1:30 p.m. This strategy session will focus on the practical aspects of searching for jobs on the Internet and will include “hidden” job sites, New Jersey jobs, Civil Service jobs, salary surveys, online ads and online resumes.
Space for each seminar is limited and registration is required. Individuals may sign up for the entire series or a single session. All of the seminars will be held at the Morris County Library, 30 East Hanover Avenue in Whippany.
