The Morris County Heritage Commission has made its informative newsletters on historical topics available online.
All issues of The Heritage Review (2002 to the present) and its predecessor, The County Circular (1977-2001), have been indexed and can now be searched by keyword, viewed and downloaded.
The commission worked with the county’s Information Services Department Web designers to digitize the documents.
The 2009 and 2010 editions of the Heritage Review can be viewed on the Heritage Commission Web site, morrisheritage.org . These issues and all past issues of The Heritage Review and The County Circular can also be viewed at scribd.com/document_collections/2460238 .
The back issues provide an exciting new way to learn about the county’s history and historic sites in the classroom or the living room. The articles cover a variety of subjects including community and local history, historic sites, events in the county’s history community and commission news. They also offer primary source material in the popular Notes from the Archives series and Quips and Quotes from Morris County’s Past, a collection of newspaper articles from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Heritage Commission is working with the county’s Information Services and Planning and Development departments to make additional historical resources available online in the near future.
