The staff of the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy is pleased to provide our training curriculum and course schedule for 2016. We believe these courses and curriculum address the needs of the Morris County Fire and Emergency Services Community, as well as the many out of county emergency services who utilize our Academy.
Starting April 1st 2016, we will begin utilizing our new Drager Class “A” Burn Building. Through the support of the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders this structure has three burn rooms which enables a fire department the ability to train in actual heat and smoke conditions under many different scenarios.
Please see the specific “Class A” Burn Facility Usage form enclosed as there are a number of requirements a department will need to adhere to for use of this facility.
The Orientation session for the Fire Fighter 1 recruits is MANDATORY with the recruits receiving their course materials, first assignment, and the requirements for successful completion of the course. It is strongly encouraged that the Chief, designee and/or Training Officer attend this Orientation session to understand what is expected of their recruit(s) along with assisting them with the completion of various documentation.
IF A RECRUIT DOES NOT ATTEND ORIENTATION THEY WILL NOT BE ENROLLED INTO THE FIRE FIGHTER 1 CLASS AND AN ALTERNATE WILL TAKE THEIR PLACE.
The entire staff here at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy would like to thank you for your continued and dedicated support every year. If you should have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the Fire Training Coordinator, Chief Louis A. Pepe at 973-285-2944 or by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
