The state Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Fish and Wildlife is reminding hunters that permits for black bear, all permit deer seasons, and fall turkey season have gone on sale this week.

hunt-3Permits for all seasons will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis as long as permits remain available and the season(s) remain open.

Permits are available at licensed agents and online. Permit availability also can be checked online.

Hunters should be aware that the black bear season will be held in two segments: an October archery and muzzle loading rifle only period, and the traditional December hunting period.
