Christine Myers of Mendham Township and Deborah Smith of Denville are the newest members of the Morris County Board of Freeholders, taking their oaths of office this afternoon at the county governing board’s annual reorganization meeting in Morristown.

The new freeholders, both Republican, are starting three-year terms on the seven member, all-Republican freeholder board.

Freeholder John Cesaro of Parsippany, who won re-election in November, was sworn in today for a second three-year term.

Also, Freeholder Director Kathy DeFillippo of Roxbury was selected by her colleagues for a second consecutive year as director, and Freeholder Hank Lyon of Montville was named as deputy director.

A host of political dignitaries attended the event, including Rep. Leonard Lance and Rep. Rodney Frelinghusen, and Assembly Majority Leader Jon Bramnick.
