The Morris County Vocational School District will be holding information sessions over the next few weeks for the Academies of Morris County for all interested eighth grade students and their parents.

An information session for the Academy for Law & Public Safety will be held Monday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at Butler High School, in Butler.

The session for the Academy for Mathematics, Science and Engineering will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Morris Hills High School in Rockaway.

Information sessions were conducted Oct. 23 for the academies for Child Related Careers; Culinary Arts; Finance and International Business; Health Care Sciences; Networking Information Technology and Communications; Veterinary Science; and Visual & Performing Arts.

The Academies of Morris County are individual magnet high schools that offer students a challenging and exciting curriculum designed to prepare them for the rigors of college and a future career. Additionally, students enjoy all the benefits of an athletic program and extra-curricular activities within a “small school atmosphere.”

The application deadline for an eighth-grade student to apply is Dec. 3.

The Morris County Vocational School District offers a number of programs for Morris County high school students including Career Academies, Share Time Programs and Share Time Programs for Special Needs students. Adult Education programs are also offered.
