The Morris County Department of Human Services’ new website, www.morrishumanservices.org, has been recognized by the National Association of Government Webmasters, the leading organization for local government web professionals.

The website won a Pinnacle Award at the group’s national conference in Kansas City, Mo., earlier this month.

“The Pinnacle Awards represent the best in government websites from among NAGW members,” said Matt Harrington, NAGW board president.

The Human Services website was singled out for excellence in a number of areas including content, design, organization, accessibility and interactivity.

Frank Pinto, department director, said the new site consolidates all of the previous Human Services sites into one site that makes it easier for citizens to find the resources and services they need.

The new website organizes services by category in the left navigation column. There is also an A – Z service list, a site search feature and an entirely new interactive Upcoming Events calendar.

A key feature of the new Department of Human Services site is that it scales to a smartphone or tablet.

The site was designed in-house by Jamie Klenetsky, web designer in the Morris County Office of Public Information, and the project was managed by Carol Spencer, the county’s digital & social media manager.
