The Morris County Park Commission’s controlled deer hunt is underway.

The hunt is being conducted in accordance with the Park Commission’s White-tailed Deer Management Program, which aims to reduce the threats posed to native flora and fauna by overabundant deer populations.

These controlled hunts are specifically used as a population management tool and do not represent recreational hunting opportunities.

County parks will be closed to the public all day on the specified hunt dates, and will only be open to hunters with special access permits.

Additional information can be found on the Morris County Park Commissions website: www.morrisparks.net.
